Gaurav Vallabh, famous face of Congress, joined BJP on April 4, and quit Congress, calling it directionless! He also criticised the party for its ‘anti-sanatan’ philosophy and called it abusive!
But it is not only Vallabh who changed loyalties from Congress to BJP, and is certainly not the last! Over the years, more than 3 dozen Congress leaders joined BJP, which has certainly built the latter’s credibility among the masses.
One thing is for sure, BJP ( Bhartiya Janta Party) has certainly benefitted by the ‘directionless’ Congress and this move has strengthened its probability for a consecutive third time victory in a row!

1. Radhika Khera
The hottest news of the town is, Radhika Khera, who served her term as Congress leader formerly, quit Congress and joined BJP on May 7. Before joining BJP, she held position as Congress’s National Media Coordinator.
According to Ms Khera, the Congress party leaders criticised her for visiting the Ram Mandir in Ayodhaya, which is beyond comprehension. In context to this, she also had disagreements with Congress leader in Chhattisgarh, which led her lose faith in the party.
Due to these reasons, she went ahead and joined the BJP at the headquarters on May 7, in presence of BJP National Media Coordinator, Mr Anil Baluni and Vinod Tawde, party’s national secretary.
2. Shekhar Suman
Bollywood actor, Shekhar Suman, also accompanied Ms Radhika Khera and joined BJP on Tuesday, 7 May at the BJP headquarters.
Addressing the media at the headquarters, he said, “I don’t have any negative thoughts. I am only thinking best for the country. For me, it is Lord Ram’s orders, God’s will, that I serve my country with the BJP. I wholeheartedly thank our PM Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah for giving me this opportunity and for letting me in with so much love. I have a lot to say, but it will prove its worth only after I act on my promises, which I certainly will.”
3. Gaurav Vallabh
This news must have come really hard for Congress! Gaurav Vallabh had been the face of Congress for a really long time. He is one of the most influential Congress leaders who joined BJP.
Gaurav Vallabh was Congress’s face in Rajasthan Assembly election in 2023 but he had lost the Udaipur seat to BJP candidate TaraChand with a massive tally of 32,000 votes.
According to him, the main reason for his resignation from Congress is the party’s directionless and boycotting the Ram Mandir’s consecration ceremony, which hurt his sentiments deeply. He also accused Congress and India Bloc parties of attacking Sanatan Dharma repeatedly which does not go with his morals.
4. Vijender Singh
Popular boxer and actor, Vijender Singh, is also among the influential Congress leaders who joined BJP in 2024. Vijender Singh contested the Lok Sabha elections 2019 from Congress, which he lost. This year, he quit Congress and joined the Saffron party to serve the nation with the torchbearers of truth.
5. Ravneet Singh Bittu
BJP had cherished the Ludhiana Lok Sabha Constituency for a really long time, but now it seems, Ram Lalla has fulfilled its wishes. Ex-Congress MP Ravneet Singh Bittu, is one of the most powerful figures among Congress leaders who joined BJP this year.
Ravneet Singh has been the Ludhiana MP for the last three terms from Congress. He joined BJP on 26 March 2024, which shook the party from the core! No one, including fellow Congress leaders, Bittu’s family members, had any hints of this upcoming shock.
6. Naveen Jindal
On 24 March 2024, Indian Industrialist and now ex-Congress MP, Naveen Jindal joined BJP. He is among the most affluent Congress leaders who joined BJP to work along with PM Narendar Modi.

7. Preneet Kaur
Congress had suspended Preneet Kaur last year in February over suspicions of helping the opposition party, BJP and accused her of indulging in anti-party politics. In a befitting reply to Congress, Preneet Kaur joined BJP on 14 March 2024 at the BJP headquarters.
Preneet Kaur is the wife of Amrindar Singh, who is the ex-CM Punjab. She was MP Patiala from the Congress party and is among the many enraged leaders who joined BJP. In her words, “ I will work for my constituency, my state and my country under the leadership of PM Narendar Modi.”
8. Arjun Modhwadia
Ex-Congress Chief from Gujrat, Arjun Modhwadia is also among the sensational Congress leaders who joined BJP. He bid adieu to Congress on March 6, 2024.
In his words, “ He wants to be the squirrel who contributed to the making of Ram Setu and PM Narender is Ram and Viksit Bharat is Ram Setu.” He assured that he would double his efforts to strengthen the BJP.”
9. Jagadish Shettar
Ex-Chief Minister of Karnataka, Jagadish Shettar returned to BJP on 25 January 2024, after working with Congress for a year. This was a big political move while the Lok Sabha elections 2024 were taking shape.
Jagadish Shettar believes that he could not stop himself from re-joining the BJP for all the love and responsibilities BJP had given him. He strongly believes that PM Narendra Modi should be elected the Prime Minister again and he would get to contribute to his vision of Viksit Bharat.

10. Jitin Prasada
From Pilibhit in Uttar Pradesh, Jitin Prasada is among the ex-Congress leaders who joined BJP in 2021.
While joining the party, he said in his address, “ the decision to quit Congress did not come easy as we have been with Congress for the last three-generations. But over the last ten years I have realised, it is only BJP which is the only national party, rest all are just regional.”
