Veteran actor Jaya Bachchan and filmmaker Karan Johar shared a light, candid moment with the paparazzi at a Mumbai event on Wednesday night. The duo attended The Honours, hosted by The Hollywood Reporter India, where their off-camera chat quickly drew attention online.

As Karan Johar met Jaya Bachchan outside the venue, he greeted her with a warm hug. Photographers requested the pair to pose together. However, the two stayed engrossed in conversation. In a playful moment, Johar teased Bachchan, telling her that everyone—from Gen Z to the paparazzi—was “obsessed” with her. She responded with a smile, clearly amused.

After their exchange, Johar hugged Bachchan again while she affectionately caressed his cheek. As he walked away, Johar turned to the photographers and quipped, “Mere wajah se mila photo,” suggesting they managed to get pictures only because of him. Moments later, he repeated the comment to Bachchan, prompting laughter from those around as she reacted with a mock expression.

Another video from the event showed Bachchan speaking with friends while photographers continued calling out to her. She eventually gestured for them to step back, repeatedly signaling that it was enough. The moment echoed her long-standing, no-nonsense approach toward intrusive camera attention.

This was not the first time Bachchan addressed paparazzi behaviour. Over the years, she has often called out photographers for crowding or excessive directions, whether at private gatherings, prayer meets, or film events. Her sharp remarks and candid reactions have frequently gone viral, reinforcing her reputation for speaking her mind.

On the professional front, Bachchan was last seen in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani (2023), directed by Karan Johar. The film marked their recent collaboration and was widely discussed for bringing together multiple generations of Hindi cinema.

The brief interaction at the Mumbai event once again showed the easy familiarity between the two industry veterans—marked by warmth, humour, and a moment that paparazzi were quick to capture.
