Air Force, CRPF, BSF and CISF Likely to Be Deployed for Leak-Proof Exam

The Union Government is preparing an unprecedented security framework for the upcoming NEET-UG 2026 re-examination, with the Indian Air Force (IAF) and central armed police forces likely to play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity of the country’s largest medical entrance test.

The move comes amid heightened concerns over examination security following earlier controversies, prompting authorities to adopt extraordinary measures to guarantee a fair and leak-proof examination process.

Air Force to Transport Question Papers

In a first-of-its-kind initiative, the Indian Air Force has been tasked with transporting NEET-UG question papers to various locations across the country.

According to officials, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan recently held discussions with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh regarding logistical support for the examination.

Under the plan, Air Force aircraft and helicopters will be used to rapidly transport sensitive examination materials to designated hubs nationwide. Officials believe this will significantly reduce transit time and minimize the risk of security breaches during transportation.

Traditionally, question paper distribution takes around 10 days. With Air Force assistance, authorities expect the process to be completed within four to five days.

Central Forces May Be Deployed

Apart from Air Force support, the government is also considering the deployment of central armed police forces, including personnel from agencies such as the CRPF, BSF, and CISF.

These forces may be assigned to secure the movement of question papers from distribution centres to examination venues and assist local authorities in maintaining strict security protocols.

A final decision on the deployment of central forces is expected following a high-level review meeting chaired by the Union Home Secretary.

If approved, it would mark one of the most extensive security operations ever undertaken for a public examination in India.

Government Focused on Leak-Proof Examination

Officials from the National Testing Agency (NTA) have emphasized that every possible measure is being taken to eliminate the possibility of paper leaks and malpractice.

Senior officials have maintained confidentiality regarding operational details but have reiterated the government’s commitment to conducting a transparent and secure examination.

The NTA headquarters witnessed another round of preparedness reviews on Tuesday as authorities assessed logistical, technological, and security arrangements ahead of the re-exam.

States Asked to Increase Vigilance

Speaking after reviewing preparations, Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said the government is working closely with all stakeholders to maintain complete secrecy throughout the examination process.

He revealed that letters have been sent to Chief Ministers across the country seeking enhanced cooperation and vigilance from state administrations.

According to the minister, while states have provided strong support in previous examinations, authorities are seeking even stricter monitoring mechanisms this time to ensure there are no lapses.

Cyber Security Agencies on Alert

Beyond physical security, the government has also activated multiple cybersecurity and intelligence agencies to monitor potential threats.

Agencies, including the Intelligence Bureau (IB), the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), and other security organizations, are reportedly coordinating efforts to safeguard the examination process.

The government believes that combining physical security with advanced cyber surveillance will help prevent any attempt to compromise the examination.

Prime Minister Monitoring Preparations

Dharmendra Pradhan stated that the government is determined to learn from previous shortcomings and restore public confidence in the examination system.

According to him, the Prime Minister is personally monitoring developments related to the re-examination and has directed authorities to ensure a fair, transparent, and smooth process for all candidates.

The minister expressed confidence that the coordinated efforts of various agencies would help conduct the examination without any irregularities.

NEET Re-Exam Scheduled for June 21

The NEET-UG 2026 re-examination is scheduled to be held on June 21.

With lakhs of aspiring medical students preparing for the crucial test, authorities are hoping that the unprecedented security arrangements will reassure candidates and parents while reinforcing the credibility of India’s medical entrance examination system.

As preparations enter their final phase, all eyes will be on how successfully the government executes what could become the most secure examination logistics operation in the country’s history.
