Juhu Aerodrome, Mumbai (Established in 1928) This is India's first civil aviation airport and holds the distinction of being the oldest airport in the country. Although it no longer handles commercial flights, it continues to be used for VIP movements.

Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport, Kolkata (Established in 1924) Located in Kolkata, this airport is one of the oldest in India and played an important role during World War II. Formerly it was known as the Dum Dum Airport.

Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi (Opened in 1962) This airport is located in the capital city of India, was formerly known as Palam Airport. Today, it isn't only the biggest airport in India but also the busiest in terms of passenger traffic.

Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport, Varanasi (Opened in 1924) This airport serves the holy city of Varanasi. As it is located at Babatpur, it is also called Babatpur Airport. It is one of the earliest airports in India and is now named after former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri.

Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport, Guwahati (Opened in 1958) The airport is the main air travel hub for Northeast India. It's named after Gopinath Bordoloi, Assam’s first Chief Minister. The airport has experienced multitudinous expansions and emendations since its establishment for socio- profitable development, growth, connectivity, and tourism in the state .

Dabolim International Airport, Goa (Opened in 1955) This airport in Goa started operations in 1955, during the time when Goa was still a Portuguese colony.

Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, Ahmedabad (Opened in 1949) This airport began functioning in 1949 and is one of the oldest in India, named after (Iron Man of India).

Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, Mumbai While it may not be the absolute oldest, this airport is one of the most important and historic ones in India.

Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Hyderabad (Opened in 2008) Even though this airport is one of the newer ones, having opened in 2008, it is a major international airport in South India.
