Casio, a brand long celebrated for its digital and quartz timepieces, has taken an audacious new turn. At a glittering event in New Delhi, Casio India unveiled the Edifice EFK-100 series—its first-ever automatic watch line in the country—signaling a bold expansion into the mechanical watch segment.

A Fusion of Motorsports and Horology

The EFK-100 collection is not just another lineup; it is a statement of intent. Inspired by the high-octane world of motorsports, the design embodies the Edifice DNA: speed, precision, and advanced design. With every detail, from the materials to the dial construction, Casio has woven the spirit of racing into mechanical craftsmanship.

“The launch of our first automatic watch in India marks a landmark moment for Casio. As a Japanese brand with a long-standing legacy of innovation and craftsmanship, we are proud to introduce a timepiece that blends the automotive spirit of speed and intelligence with classical automatic watches,”

said Takuto Kimura, Managing Director, Casio India.

Five Models, One Vision

The EFK-100 series features five distinctive models, each designed for watch enthusiasts who crave style without compromising on performance:

  • EFK-100XPB-1A: Showcasing a forged carbon case and dial—lightweight, durable, and sporty.
  • EFK-100CD-1A: Features a forged carbon dial for a sleek, textured aesthetic.
  • EFK-100D series (2A, 3A, and 7A): Crafted using advanced electroforming techniques, offering sharp detailing and bold finishes.

Prices start at ₹25,995, placing the EFK-100 series firmly in the mid-range mechanical watch market—a sweet spot for Indian buyers seeking quality and brand trust without luxury-level pricing.

A Milestone in Casio’s Evolution

For decades, Casio has defined precision in digital and quartz watches, becoming a household name worldwide. This shift into automatic watches is more than product diversification—it’s a recognition of India’s evolving consumer base. With growing interest in mechanical timepieces among young professionals and collectors, Casio’s move feels both timely and strategic.

A Glimpse Into the Future

While the EFK-100 stole the spotlight, Casio also teased another exciting release—the Edifice ECB-2300, expected in December. A multi-hand chronograph, it evolves Edifice’s unique Sospensione dual-layered suspension arm design. Combined with Tough Solar technology, Smartphone Link functionality, and a refined, sleeker build compared to the ECB-2200, it hints at Casio’s continued innovation streak.

Why This Matters

Casio’s debut in the Indian mechanical watch market is not just a product launch—it’s a cultural moment. It’s the meeting point of Japanese engineering, motorsport-inspired artistry, and India’s fast-paced lifestyle. With the EFK-100, Casio is inviting a new generation of Indian consumers to embrace the timeless charm of automatic movements—while staying rooted in modern design and affordability.
