The Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) has officially commenced the Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations across the state from February 3, 2026. This year, the examinations are witnessing massive participation, with over 7 lakh students appearing from government and private schools.
Exam Schedule and Coverage
Examinations are being conducted smoothly at thousands of examination centres across Jharkhand. Students from Science, Commerce, and Arts streams are taking part in the Class 12 exams, while lakhs of candidates have also enrolled for the Class 10 (Matric) examinations.
According to officials, the exams are scheduled to continue over the coming weeks, following a strict timetable released earlier by the council.
Strict Security and Fair Exam Measures
The Jharkhand Academic Council has implemented tight security arrangements to ensure fair and transparent examinations. Section 144 has been imposed around sensitive centres, and flying squads are conducting surprise inspections to prevent malpractice.
Additionally, CCTV surveillance, frisking of candidates, and strict entry protocols have been enforced at several centres to maintain discipline.
Student Preparedness and Support
Students were seen arriving early at exam centres, carrying admit cards and required stationery. Schools and district administrations have made arrangements for smooth entry, seating management, and crowd control, especially in urban areas.
Teachers and education officials have expressed confidence that the examinations will be conducted peacefully and without disruption.
The Class 10 and 12 board exams play a crucial role in shaping students’ academic futures, determining eligibility for higher education and career pathways. With so many candidates appearing, the Jharkhand board exams remain one of the most significant academic events in the state calendar.
