Former Haryana minister, Savitri Jindal also known as the richest Indian woman, has quit the Congress and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party. She went on to join BJP after her son, Naveen Jindal who also left the party to join BJP ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.

Savitri Jindal is the Chairperson Emeritus of the OP Jindal Group. She holds the title of India’s richest woman, as per Forbes India’s “Top 10 Richest Women in India in 2024” list. Her net worth is $29.1 billion.
Savitri’s decision to join BJP
On Wednesday, late at night Savitri decided to leave Congress and announced this on a social media post. She posted in Hindi saying, “I represented the people of Hisar for 10 years as an MLA and have served Haryana state selflessly as a minister. The people of Hisar are my family and on the advice of my family, I am resigning from the primary membership of the Congress today.”
Savitri and Om Prakash’s son, Naveen Jindal who has also joined BJP is a candidate from Kurukshetra.
