Wamiqa Gabbi was born on 29 September 1993 and she is from Chandigarh. She was born to Punjabi parents and her father, Govardhan Gabbi, is a well known novelist, with works published in both Hindi and Punjabi.
She completed her schooling from St. Xavier school and college from DAV College, in Chandigarh.
Career: Journey From Kathak Dancer to Rising Star
Apart from movies, Wamiqa Gabbi is also known for her prowess in Kathak. She found her spotlight moment in the Punjabi cinema industry with the hit film Tu Mera 22 Mai Tera 22, alongside renowned artists Yo Yo Honey Singh and Amrinder Gill. This was when she started her career into the cinema.
Following her debut, Gabbi continued to shine in Punjabi cinema and starred in romantic comedies like Ishq Brandy and Ishq Haazir Hai, paired up with Punjabi singer and superstar, Diljit Dosanjh.
Wamiqa has never restricted herself when it comes to language barriers. In Bollywood, she played the role of Tanisha in Sixteen, which was her first female lead role.
