Lewis Hamilton has shocked Mercedes, his fans, and the entire F1 world with his shocking move to the Scuderia Ferrari starting from 2025 season. This creates a vacancy for a much-admired driver seat at one of the most successful and dominant teams F1 ever witnessed.

Let's look at five drivers who could possibly replace the seven-time world champion and join George Russell in the Silver Arrows.

Mick Schumacher

As the reserve driver at Mercedes, Mick Schumacher becomes the natural choice for the team. Mick has shown interest in driving in real races in the past. Let's see if the son of the greatest driver of all time gets to drive a Mercedes on the racetrack.

Fernando Alonso

The two-time world champion and one of the finest drivers on the grid, Fernando Alonso, is capable of delivering extraordinary performances every time on the racetrack. The 2023 season in an Aston Martin car proved that he is far from declining as an F1 driver.

Valtteri Bottas

The former Mercedes driver, who has clinched multiple victories for the team, is currently associated with Alfa Romeo, now rebranded as Kick Sauber until 2024. It wouldn't be too surprising to see the Finnish driver behind the wheel of the Silver Arrows.

Carlos Sainz

The Spanish driver, after losing his seat at Scuderia Ferrari to the seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton, is currently without a contract. He delivered some impressive performances in 2023, winning a race and breaking Max Verstappen's winning streak.

Sebastian Vettel

The four-time world champion and one of the biggest names in F1, Sebastian Vettel, is currently on sabbatical. However, Toto Wolff has provided excitement for Vettel's fans by stating that he is in touch with the German driver.
