For Ramdas Bedia, a farmer from Bisa village in Angara block of Ranchi district, August 15, 2025, will be a day to remember. He has received a special invitation from the Hon’ble President of India to attend the Independence Day celebrations and the Presidential Dinner at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
This honour has been given to him for completing the construction of his house ahead of schedule under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY). After availing the scheme’s benefits, Ramdas worked with full dedication and completed the house before the deadline—setting a shining example of the scheme’s success.
Invitation Delivered via Special Post
The invitation, issued by the President’s Office, was sent via a special postal bag from Delhi to Ranchi. Eastern Sub-Division Ranchi Postal Inspector Sikandar Pradhan, Postal Superintendent Sameer Kumar, and Tatisilwai Post Office postman Baijnath Mahto personally visited Bisa village to hand over the letter to Ramdas Bedia.
Celebration in the Village
As soon as the news spread, the entire village was filled with joy and pride. Locals described it as national recognition for the hard work and honesty of a simple farmer. Many visited his home to congratulate him.
It is worth noting that earlier, Jharkhand’s Jamuna Tudu had also been invited to the Presidential Dinner.
Ramdas Bedia’s Reaction
Ramdas said, “I had no idea that a letter had come from the President’s Office. When I opened the envelope, I learned that I had been invited on August 15. I completed my house under PMAY ahead of schedule, and perhaps that’s why I have been given this honour.”
Praise from the Village Head
The village head congratulated him, saying that proper and timely implementation of government schemes can bring pride not only to an individual but to the entire village.
