India has reported 752 new Covid cases in the past 24 hours, marking the highest daily increase since May 21, 2023. The total number of active cases has now reached 3,420, according to the latest data from the Union health ministry.
The death toll has risen to 5,33,332, with four new deaths recorded in the last 24 hours. Two of these deaths were reported in Kerala, and one each in Rajasthan and Karnataka.
The overall Covid case count in the country is now 4.50 crore (4,50,07,964). On a positive note, the number of people who have recovered from the virus has increased to 4,44,71,212, resulting in a national recovery rate of 98.81%. The fatality rate remains at 1.19%.
According to the health ministry’s website, a total of 220.67 crore doses of the Covid vaccine have been administered across the country.
