The Congress party, led by Rahul Gandhi, has announced the commencement of ‘Bharat Nyaya Yatra.’ Following the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra,’ this ambitious journey is set to cover over 6,200 kilometers from Manipur to Mumbai, spanning 14 states, and is scheduled to take place from January 14 to March 20.
Jairam Ramesh, General Secretary in-charge Communications, Indian National Congress, highlighted the transition in focus from the Bharat Jodo Yatra to the Bharat Nyaya Yatra. During the former, Rahul Gandhi emphasized three crucial issues – economic inequality, social polarization, and political dictatorship. Now, the spotlight shifts to economic justice, social justice, and political justice.
“Rahul Gandhi led the Bharat Jodo Yatra from Kanyakumari to Kashmir, covering 4,500 km, making it a historic journey in Indian political history. Drawing from that experience, he will embark on the Bharat Nyaya Yatra. This journey aims to engage with the women of the country, the youth, and marginalized communities,” said Venugopal, another prominent Congress leader.
The Bharat Nyaya Yatra is expected to traverse through Manipur, Nagaland, Assam, Meghalaya, West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Gujarat before culminating in Maharashtra. The extensive route signifies a comprehensive approach to addressing issues prevalent across diverse regions of the country.
The core themes of economic justice, social justice, and political justice are expected to be discussed and deliberated upon during the yatra.
