Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has revealed plans to build a memorial in Ayodhya for the Karsevaks who lost their lives in Ram Janmabhoomi movement. This memorial will serve as a tribute to the individuals who made sacrifices during a period of police firing that unfolded over two days in 1990 under Mulayam Singh Yadav’s regime.

The Karsevaks, were devotees of Lord Ram who were actively involved in the movement of the Ram Mandir. Unfortunately, they faced fatal consequences during the course of their devotion. The Chief Minister, recognising their commitment and sacrifice, has expressed the need to acknowledge them with due respect.

The memorial in Ayodhya will be a place of remembrance and reflection, honoring the devotion and sacrifices made by the Karsevaks. It will feature inscriptions of their names, ensuring that their memory lives on for generations to come.

The Kothari brothers, who were among the Karsevaks, will also be acknowledged in the memorial. Their contribution and sacrifice will be recognised alongside others who lost their lives during the construction of the Ram Mandir. This inclusive approach highlights the significance of every individual’s devotion and the collective effort that went into the realisation of this revered temple.
