CISCE mandates that rechecking must be applied for first. Re-evaluation can only be requested after recheck results are out, and only within a 24-hour window.

The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) has officially released the schedule for the ICSE Class 10 and ISC Class 12 Supplementary (Improvement) Examinations 2026. The notification brings much-needed relief to thousands of students who either failed in one or two subjects or wish to improve their aggregate scores ahead of college admissions.

The supplementary exams are set to begin on June 15, 2026, with final results expected in the last week of July — providing a clear pathway for students to secure admissions for the upcoming academic session without losing a year.

According to CISCE’s 2026 guidelines, students who failed in one or two subjects in the main board examinations are eligible for the supplementary exams. Students who passed but wish to improve their overall percentage are also permitted to register — making this a meaningful opportunity for a broader group of candidates.

Important Note

Applying for Rechecking is a mandatory first step. CISCE rules require students to submit a rechecking request before they become eligible for re-evaluation. Recheck requests must be submitted online — through the school or individually via the portal — by May 4, 2026.

How to Apply: Step-by-Step

01 Visit the official CISCE portal at cisce.org

02 Click “Registration for Supplementary/Improvement Exam 2026”

03 Enter your Unique ID, Index Number, and credentials

04 Select subjects (maximum 2 as per 2026 rules)

05 Pay the application fee and submit the form online

06 Download the confirmation page for your records

Rechecking vs Re-evaluation: Know the Difference

CISCE offers two distinct post-result processes that students often confuse. Rechecking involves verifying totaling errors or unmarked pages — it is a clerical check. Re-evaluation, on the other hand, is a comprehensive fresh assessment of the answer script. Crucially, the re-evaluation result is considered final and will supersede the previous score.

Students must note that re-evaluation can only be applied for after recheck results are declared, and only within a 24-hour window. Missing this window means forfeiting the option entirely.
