Kangana Ranaut Enters Politics With A Dash Of Drama

Bollywood icon Kangana Ranaut is known to make headlines. She has never shied away from voicing her opinions and takes keen interest in politics, as she calls herself a ‘nationalist’ before an actor, or a filmmaker. 

Although in early days of the year, she told the press that she is a sensible and a sensitive person, not a political person’, she declared her entry in politics as BJP Lok Sabha Candidate from her birthplace, Mandi on the auspicious occasion of Holi.

She penned down an emotional note, on her instagram handle, thanking BJP for showing faith in her and selecting her. Whereas she calls this a dreamlike opportunity to serve her homeland and country, the news received mixed reactions from both supporters and critics. 

Post her announcement of her political plunge, Mr Dilip, MLA Sarkaghat along with other BJP workers visited Kangana’s residence to congratulate her and extend their support. Overjoyed with all the support, Kangana expressed her gratitude and love for her homeland, Mandi and pledged to immerse herself in grassroot engagement by visiting the streets and small villages of Mandi. 

A proud recipient of 4 National Film Awards and 5 Filmfare Awards, Kangana is known as a strong willed woman and her strong opinions are known more as her personal style. With a fair share of critics, she is widely appreciated for her bold statements and has been listed six times in Forbes India’s Celebrity list. She was also honored with the Padma Shri Award in 2020, which is the nation’s 4th highest civilian award. 

High on emotions, Kangana also thanked her family for their unwavering support and then, proceeded to seek blessings at Bhambla’s Mata Ambika temple in Mandi.
