Exam Rescheduled Due to Previous Paper Leak
The exam had to be rescheduled after it was previously canceled due to a paper leak. To ensure the integrity and transparency of the selection process, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed the examination to be re-conducted within six months. The government has issued detailed guidelines regarding the preparation of the exam, the selection of examination centers, verification of candidates, and measures to prevent cheating and the use of proxies.
Free Travel for Candidates
Candidates appearing for the exam will be provided free travel in state-run buses. This decision aims to ease the burden on the candidates and ensure their smooth commute to the examination centers.
Ordinance to Prevent Malpractice
On July 1, 2024, the government issued the Uttar Pradesh Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Ordinance 2024 to curb malpractice in public examinations. The ordinance classifies acts such as leaking question papers, tampering with answer sheets, and other forms of cheating as punishable offenses.
