Finally, the highly anticipated Met Gala 2024 is here and the theme this year is ‘The Garden of Time’. Stars from across the globe have already started rocking this spectacular fashion ball. And, everyone had their own interpretation of the costume theme!

Do you know what is Met Gala all about? The Met Gala is an annual fundraising event which is organised to benefit Manhattan’s Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute. That is why, Met Gala was formerly called ‘the Costume Institute Benefit.’

Met Gala is organised in New York on the first Monday in the month of May every year. Stars and celebrities from across the world showcase stunning outfits to raise money for this Metropolitan Art’s Costume Museum.

Here is the list of Indians who rocked the Met Gala 2024 and bedazzled the stage in ‘the Garden of time’ dress theme:

Isha Ambani 

Billionaire Isha Ambani, daughter of business tycoons Mukesh Ambani and Nita Ambani, shone bright at the Met Gala 2024 in a custom-made saree-gown by designer Rahul Mishra. Well, when it’s about Ms Isha Ambani, there’s nothing called ordinary, isn’t it!

This custom gown by prepared by Indian artisans in 10,000 hours and featured delicate hand embroidery. The dress also featured a long floral train and the clutch, Swadesh, crafted using ancient Indian forms of miniature paintings and Nakashi, complemented the dress!

Alia Bhatt

Bollywood superstar, Alia Bhatt, wore Sabyasachi for the Met Gala 2024. It was a floral mint-green saree which the stylist, Anaita Shroff Adajania styled for her. About 1,00,000 real pearls adorned this custom-made Sabyasachi saree and the 23-foot long trail at the back fit best with the theme of the event, Sleeping beauties: Reawakening Fashion.

Natasha Poonawalla

Famous socialite Natasha Poonawalla attended the Met Gala 2024 in a bespoke Margiela gown, designed by John Galliano, who is Industry’s favorite fashion designer currently. Her enseamble dress represented the ‘rebirth and renewal’ face of ‘the garden of time’ theme and she paired the dress with Christian Louboutins.

Mindy Kaling 

Famous actor-producer, Mindy Kaling wore a custom-made scuplted gown by Gaurav Gupta, which featured a gorgeous long cape. Starting from shoulders and ending as a trail, a bepsoke head piece complemented the cape, which added the X factor the gown.

Mona Patel 

Trillionaire Mona Patel is the CEO of Forbes Next 1000 honoree. In her Met Gala 2024 debut, she wore a pastel off-shoulder, body-fitted gown designed by Iris V Herpen.

The dress had beautiful 3D butterflies on the sleeves, as ode to the theme of the fashion ball which was ‘the garden of time’. Iris also added his signature elements into the dress, the marbled fabric. This was surely one of the most beautiful sombre outfits of the Met Gala 2024, with the representation of ‘Sleeping beauty: Reawaken Fashion’.

Ambika Mod

In a much anticipated debut in the Met Gala, actress Ambika Mod wore a black and white gown designed by Loewe. She starred in the ‘One Day’ series on Netflix. She is the daughter of Indian parents who migrated to Hertfordshire, England in the early 1990s.

Simone Ashley 

‘Bridgerton’ actor Simone Ashley wore a body hugging navy blue cut-dress by Prabal Gurung.

Sudha Reddy 

The Indian billionaire from Hyderabad, Sudha Reddy wore a never-seen-before Tarun Tahiliani silk dress in ivory color for the Met Gala 2024. Guess what’s unique here? Her personal jewels complemented the look which was her Reddy’s 25 solitaire necklace worth 180 carats. Her 2 diamond Solitaire rings also grabbed the attention and oh, the Swarovski studded nails! It was totally a star-studded dress!
