Jai Mata Di! Today is the first day of Navratri 2024. In Hindu religion, the 9 days of Navratri hold a very special place. Hindu devotees from all over the world believe that Maa Durga opens the door of her house and her heart for her devotees. These are the best 9 days to get all your wishes fulfilled. Maa Durga is Maa ( Mother) after all, to whom all her children ( the devotees) are equally beloved. 

But nothing will change if you keep manifesting sitting on your couch all day and doing nothing about it! Maa Durga knows which child of hers is truly devotional and hardworking, only then she fulfills the wishes. 

So, what to do this Navratri to please Maa Durga and to win her love? What is the right way to begin Navratri Pooja, what is the correct Gupt Navratri 2024 date and time and what should you strictly avoid doing this Chaitra Navratri? Come, let’s jump right into it: 

Chaitra Navratri 2024: The Best time to do Kalash Sthapana 

On the first day of Navratri, devotees do the ‘Kalash Sthapana’ which is an indispensable part of setting your temple right for Navratri Pooja. But, one must do it at the right time as per astrological charts. 

The best time to do Navratri 2024 Kalash Sthapana would be 11:57 am- 12:48 pm on 9 April 2024. ( Abhijeet Muhurat)

Chaitra Navratri 2024: Best Vidhi to do Kalash Sthapana 

Now, let’s know what is the correct way to do the Navratri Kalash Sthapana: 

  • First of all, clean your house really well. Sweep and mop the floor, dust off the main door and light a purifying incense. 
  • Now, make Swastika signs on both sides of the house’s main door and decorate the door with a Toran made of Mango leaves. ( 7 or 9 leaves in total would be best) 
(Tip: Maa Durga loves fresh flowers. Try not using any artificial flowers in the Navratri Pooja 2024.) 
  • Clean your temple and sprinkle Gangajal. 
  • Keep a wooden table ( Asana) and spread red cloth over it. 
  • Now, place Maa Durga’s idol ( or picture ) and then place Lord Ganesha’s idol on the left side. 
  • Now, tie 5-7 Mango tree leaves in Red Kalava and tie it on the neck of  a Cooper, or Brass water container. 
  • Now, place the coconut in a Copper water container, make Swastika on it. 
  • Now, take an earthen pot and add a handful of Barley seeds in sand. Add water to it. 
  • Now, light a Desi Ghee diya ( or use Sesame Oil), along with Chandan Dhoop Cone. ( or any). Keep fresh fruit(s) and red flowers to please Maa Durga.
