February 25, 2024 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed gratitude towards Lord Krishna for the construction of Sudarshan Setu, a cable-stayed bridge, during his recent visit to Dwarka. Reflecting on his journey as Gujarat’s Chief Minister, Modi recalled proposing the project to the Congress-led Centre, which went unheeded. However, he emphasized that the bridge’s realization was destined through divine intervention. Modi shared his emotional connection, revealing that he offered a peacock feather at the ancient underwater site of Dwarka while expressing his heartfelt appreciation.

Building a New India

During the inauguration of various projects in Dwarka, PM Modi reiterated his commitment to building a new India despite opposition skepticism. He highlighted the economic progress achieved under his leadership, contrasting it with the previous regime’s alleged focus on perpetuating scams and neglecting development. Modi credited his administration for curbing corruption and propelling India to become the world’s fifth-largest economy.

Sudarshan Setu: A Marvel of Engineering

Drawing parallels with other engineering feats across India, PM Modi hailed Sudarshan Setu as a testament to the nation’s engineering prowess. The bridge, linking Okha to Beyt Dwarka island, was inaugurated with much acclaim, marking a significant milestone in Gujarat’s infrastructure development.

The inauguration of Sudarshan Setu, India’s longest cable-stayed bridge, symbolized connectivity and progress. Built at a cost of ₹ 979 crore, the bridge serves as a vital link between Okha and Beyt Dwarka, facilitating access to the revered Dwarkadhish temple.

Dwarka Darshan: A Divine Experience

During his visit to Dwarka, PM Modi immersed himself in spiritual experiences, including offering prayers at the Dwarkadhish Temple and exploring the submerged city associated with Lord Krishna. He described the encounter as deeply profound, connecting him to the ancient spiritual heritage of India.

In addition to the bridge inauguration, PM Modi announced the opening of Gujarat’s first All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Rajkot. He also virtually inaugurated AIIMS facilities in other states, underscoring the government’s commitment to healthcare infrastructure development.

Prime Minister Modi’s visit concluded with a planned participation in a citywide roadshow, signaling continued engagement with the people and a focus on development initiatives across the nation.
