PM Modi to Unveil ₹19,100 Crore Development Projects in Bulandshahr

With a vision for an enhanced rail, road, and freight corridor infrastructure in Bulandshahr, PM Modi targets a comprehensive regional development.

25 Jan 2024 : In a significant boost to infrastructure development, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate a slew of projects worth ₹19,100 crore during his visit to Bulandshahr in Uttar Pradesh on Thursday. The Prime Minister will also be welcoming French President Emmanuel Macron later in the day in Jaipur.

According to an official release from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), the inauguration ceremony in Bulandshahr is scheduled for 1:45 pm. The visit underscores the government’s commitment to bolstering the region’s development and connectivity.

Key Projects to be Inaugurated:

  1. Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC):
    • PM Modi will dedicate a 173 km long double line electrified section between New Khurja and New Rewari on the Dedicated Freight Corridor. This initiative aims to enhance the efficiency of goods transportation with the flagging off of goods trains from both stations.
  2. Railway Connectivity:
    • The Prime Minister will launch the fourth line connecting the Mathura-Palwal section and the Chipiyana Buzurg-Dadri section. These additional rail lines will significantly improve connectivity between the national capital and Southern, Western, and Eastern India.
  3. Road Development:
    • Multiple road development projects will be inaugurated, including the four-laning of Aligarh to Bhadwas (Package-1, part of Aligarh-Kanpur Section of NH-34), widening of Meerut to Karnal border via Shamli (NH-709A), and four-laning of Shamli-Muzaffarnagar section of NH-709 AD Package-II.
  4. Pipeline Inauguration:
    • The Tundla-Gawaria Pipeline by Indian Oil will be inaugurated, facilitating the transportation of petroleum products from Tundla to Gawaria T-Point of the Barauni-Kanpur Pipeline. Pumping facilities at Mathura and Tundla and delivery facilities at Tundla, Lucknow, and Kanpur are part of this crucial project.
  5. Integrated Industrial Township:
    • PM Modi will inaugurate the ‘Integrated Industrial Township at Greater Noida’ (IITGN), contributing to the growth of industrial infrastructure in the region.
  6. Mathura Sewerage Scheme:
    • The renovated Mathura sewerage scheme, including the construction of a sewage treatment plant (STP) costing about ₹460 crore, will also be unveiled.

Traffic Restrictions in Noida and Greater Noida: Ahead of the Prime Minister’s visit, Noida and Greater Noida police have imposed traffic restrictions to ensure smooth proceedings during the inauguration ceremonies.

About Bulandshahr: Situated in West Uttar Pradesh, Bulandshahr is a diverse district with a mix of Lodh Rajputs, Jats, Gujjars, Muslims, and Dalits. The region has been a stronghold of the BJP, winning the Lok Sabha seat in successive elections since 1991, except in 2009.
