Surat Diamond Merchant Presents Largest Donation for Ram Temple, Gifts ₹11 Crore Crown

Surat’s diamond tycoon, Mukesh Patel, has contributed a special donation to the Ram Temple. Patel, the owner of Green Lab Diamond Company in Surat, commissioned the creation of a crown adorned with gold, diamonds, and sapphires, weighing six kilograms, for the idol of Lord Rama. A day before the historic event of Lord Rama’s consecration in the grand Ram Temple in Ayodhya, Patel and his family arrived in the sacred city to offer their gift.

On January 22, 2024, the entire world, witnessed a historic day as Lord Rama took his divine seat in the majestic Ram Temple, marking a significant moment after many years of struggle.

Mukesh Patel, a diamond merchant from Surat, contributed a ₹11 crore crown for the Lord Rama idol at the Ram Janmabhoomi temple in Ayodhya. Accompanied by his family, Patel visited Ayodhya to present the crown in a ceremony held just a day before the consecration event.

The crown, crafted with gold, diamonds, and other precious gemstones, was handed over to the chief priest of the temple in the sanctum sanctorum. Dinesh Bhai Navadiya, the National Treasurer of the Vishva Hindu Parishad, revealed that Patel had contemplated contributing jewelry for Lord Rama in the newly constructed temple.

After consulting with his family and company associates, Mukesh Patel, the owner of Green Lab Diamond Company, decided to donate a crown made of gold and precious gemstones for Lord Rama. The crown, weighing six kilograms, consists of four kilograms of gold.

To ensure the crown’s perfect fit, two employees from Patel’s company were sent to Ayodhya to measure the idol. After obtaining the measurements, the crafting of the crown commenced in Surat, utilizing various gemstones such as diamonds, rubies, pearls, and sapphires.

The final crown, a magnificent piece of art, was then ceremoniously placed on the head of the idol of Lord Rama in Ayodhya, symbolizing the immense devotion and contribution from Surat’s diamond merchant, Mukesh Patel.
