1. Challengers 

    • Release Date: 26 April 2024 
    • Director : Luca Guadagnino
    • Star Cast : Zendaya, Josh O’Connor, Mike Faist
    • Genre: A Romantic Love-triangle

    The Challengers is an intense romantic- drama set around the lives of three tennis players, where the scandals of a love triangle takes the center of the court. It’s all set to release on 26 April 2024, a must-watch flick if you love binge-watch drama! 

    It is the latest cinematic offering from Luca Guadagnino, featuring Zendaya, who portrays the central character of a tennis prodigy-turned-mentor. 

    Plot: The movie is about intricate dynamics among Zendaya, her spouse and his confidant, which will be seen romancing Zendaya. It’s an exciting love-triangle between Zendaya, her husband Mike Faist, who was once-prominent but now struggling champion and Josh O’Connor plays the third key in the story who incidentally also shares a romantic history with Zendaya. 

    2. Civil War

      • Director: Alex Garland 
      • Star Cast: Kirsten Dunst and Jesse Plemons( Real Life couple), Wagner Moura, Cailee Spaeny
      • Genre: Sci-fi Thriller 

      It is Alex Garland’s most extravagant and expensive Sci-Fi thriller till date, releasing on 26 April 2024. Not much is clear about the movie’s plot though, it’s just the launch line that says ‘a race to White House in future USA balancing on razor’s edge’. The trailer showcases Nick Offerman as the President and 19 states of America split from the Union. 

      3. Boy Kills World 

        • Release Date: 26 April 2024 
        • Director: Moritz Mohr
        • Star Cast: Bill Skarsgård, Jessica Rothe, Michelle Dockery, Brett Gelman, Isaiah Mustafa, Andrew Koji, Famke Janssen, Sharlto Copley, H. Jon Benjamin
        • Genre: Thriller 

        For those eagerly anticipating The Crow’s release later in the year, there’s still the opportunity to witness Bill Skarsgård in action, albeit in a different guise. 

        Plot: Bill Skarsgård plays the Boy, who is deaf. He is driven to seek revenge after his family was tragically murdered. H. Jon Benjamin has dubbed the Boy’s internal dialogue, which is an added cherry to the depth of the story! 

        4. The Fall Guy 

          • Release Date: 3 May 2024
          • Directed by: David Leitch
          • Star Cast:  Ryan Gosling, Emily Blunt
          • Genre: Action Comedy 

          Guys, accept it: There is no better action director than David Leitch!  Leitch, a former stuntman who previously helmed John Wick, Atomic Blonde, Deadpool 2, and Hobbs & Shaw, is now tackling a film adaptation of an ‘80s TV show in this action flick. 

          Plot: Ryan Gosling is playing the role of former stuntmen, Colt Seavers, who gets to work on a movie with his ex-flame as director, Emily Blunt. When Aaron Taylor, the movie’s star is found missing, he becomes the bounty hunter and takes on the job to find the missing star! 

          David Leitch bets, The Fall Guy has all the action stunts you have never seen before; the fall from 150 feet and Gosling surfing through Sydney and Australia,  tied up behind a fast moving vehicle! So, get set for three hours of adrenaline rush and watch The Fall Guy tickle the comedy in action!

          5. Back to Black 

            Release Date: 10 May 2024

            • Star Cast : Marisa Abela, Jack O’Connell, Lesley Manville, Eddie Marsan
            • Genre: A heartfelt Biopic 

            Back to Black is an emotional biopic of the legendary singer, Amy Winehouse. It is directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson, who also directed Fifty Shades of Grey, whose success needs no introduction! 

            Plot: Marisa Abela is a rising singing sensation in the music industry which looks and sings like the late Amy Winehouse. Eddie Marsan and Juliet Cowan play the role of her devoted parents. Lesley Manville portrays her grandmother who was a former singer herself! 

            With the blessing of Winehouse’s estate, this film promises to be a tribute to Amy Winehouse, which features her soulful songs in the soundtrack. 

            “I’m filled with both excitement and humility at the chance to bring Amy’s uniquely beautiful yet tragic tale to the silver screen, with the most precious part of her legacy her music,” expressed Taylor-Johnson in 2023.

            6. Kingdom of planet of Apes 

              • Release: 10 May 2024 
              • Director: Wes Ball
              • Star Cast : Owen Teague, Freya Allan, Peter Macon, Eka Darville, and Kevin Durand
              • Genre: Sci-fi Comic Thriller 

              Plot: Caesar, the chimpanzee who was the leader of apes to world domination, passed away in 2017’s War for the Planet of the Apes. The Kingdom of Planet of Apes is the latest addition to the franchise of 20th Century Studios which will showcase the future generations of apes. 

              While the new dictatorial ape starts to build an empire, the young ape grapples with his decisions that will decide the future of both humans and apes. 

              7. Inside Out 2

                • Star Cast: Amy Poehler, Phyllis Smith, Lewis Black, Ayo Edibiri, Maya Hawke, Tony Hale
                • Genre: Animation Drama 

                The prequel to Inside Out 2 was launched in 2015, and it was Pixar’s most beautiful yet agonizing movie! Earlier, we saw through an emotional young girl’s mind. But how do you top that for the sequel? Well, the young girl has now become a teenager! 

                Plot:  Inside Out 2 takes us back to Riley’s journey, who is now a teenager! Since she is a grown up now, emotions such as Joy, Anger, Sadness, Disgust and Fear will have to accommodate new debutant emotions like Anxiety, which is just not taken easily! Watch this captivating emotional animation drama which is an unbelievable portrayal of emotions in a human way!

                8. A Quiet Place: Day one

                  • Director: Michael Sarnoski
                  • Star Cast: Lupita Nyong’o, Joseph Quinn, Alex Wolff, Djimon Hounsou, Denis O’Hare
                  • Genre:  Sci-fi Thriller 

                  Amidst the gripping narrative of the A Quiet Place series, this sequel stands out as a captivating exception as seen in the trailer. 

                  Plot: A Quiet Place is sci-fi thriller revolving around aliens who have invaded New York City. The horrifying part is, they hunt their prey by listening to sounds. This action thriller is the story of a woman, Sammy who fights these creatures for her life! 

                  It is directed by Michael Sarnoski, who directed Pig in 2021, one of Nicolas Cage‘s most stellar performances. While the majority of the cast members are debutants, we suggest you must watch the prequel, to understand the return of Djimon Hounsou’s character! 

                  9. Joker : Folie à Deux`

                    • Star Cast: Joaquin Phoenix, Lady Gaga, Brendan Gleeson, Zazie Beetz, Catherine Keener, and Jacob Lofland
                    • Genre:  Musical Crime Fiction/  Psychological thriller 

                    Joker : Folie à Deux is 10 times more intense than its prequel! It is a psychological musical thriller, which is somewhat based on characters of DC Comics.  The sequel, Joker ( 2019) was a mega hit globally, we laughed and cried with the Joker as he etched a permanent mark in our hearts! 

                    In this sequel, Lady Gaga will join Joaquin Phoenix as his romantic interest. This comic thriller is a collaborative production of DC Comics and Warner Bros and is majorly shot in Los Angeles, New York and New Jersey. 

                    Plot: While the main plot of the movie has been kept under the wraps, the title in French means that it is about the shared madness of the duo in close contact. The movie is set majorly in the Arkham Asylum, where the turn of events explores the actors’ close bond and how it affects their criminal planning. 

                    10. Gladiator Part 2

                      • Star Cast: Paul Mescal, Denzel Washington, Connie Nielsen, Djimon Hounsou, Joseph Quinn, Derek Jacobi

                      Director Ridley Scott is back with the sequel to the monumental 2000 megahit, the Gladiator. While the plot is under covers, the storyline is rumored to be focussed around the grown up Lucius who is the son of Lucilla and the nephew of Commodus. The sequel takes you 20 years ahead of the prequel, where Lucius fights his old political connections.
