The body of former model Divya Pahuja was recovered from a canal in Tohana, Haryana, on Saturday, more than ten days after she was shot dead in a Gurugram hotel. The Gurugram Police, in collaboration with Punjab Police and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), successfully retrieved the 27-year-old ex-model’s body, bringing a somber conclusion to the mysterious circumstances surrounding her murder.

The extensive search operation involved six teams from the Gurugram Police, several teams from the Punjab Police, and a 25-member team from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF). The body, initially thrown into the Bhakra canal in Punjab, had drifted to Haryana, where it was eventually found. Family members confirmed Pahuja’s identity after receiving a photo from the police, marking a crucial development in the investigation.

On January 2, Divya Pahuja met a tragic end under suspicious circumstances at the City Point Hotel in Gurugram. The hotel owner, Abhijeet Singh, was identified as the main accused in the case. According to police reports, Singh alleged that Pahuja had been blackmailing him with explicit videos, leading to her murder. The case took a significant turn when Balraj Gill, one of the accused, confessed to disposing of Pahuja’s body.

Balraj Gill’s confession unveiled a disturbing plot. After the murder, Singh had contacted Gill from Delhi to assist in disposing of Pahuja’s body, offering Rs 10 lakh for the task. Another individual involved, Ravi Banga, is currently evading capture. The police are actively pursuing Banga to complete the apprehension of all suspects involved in the crime.

So far, five individuals have been arrested in connection with Pahuja’s murder. Besides Singh, the other arrested individuals include Hemraj, Om Prakash, Megha Phogat—who allegedly assisted in hiding the murder weapon and Pahuja’s belongings—and Balraj Gill, who confessed to disposing of the body. The investigation is ongoing as the police verify Singh’s claims and intensify efforts to apprehend the remaining suspect, Ravi Banga.

The recovery of Divya Pahuja’s body from the Haryana canal marks a significant development in the investigation into her tragic murder. The collaborative efforts of the Gurugram Police, Punjab Police, and the National Disaster Response Force played a crucial role in bringing closure to this disturbing case. As the investigation continues, the pursuit of justice for Divya Pahuja remains a top priority, shedding light on the complexities surrounding her untimely demise.
