Director Atlee has revealed an interesting behind-the-scenes story about the casting of his upcoming sci-fi fantasy film Raaka. Speaking during a promotional event for actress Preity Mukhundhan’s upcoming Tamil film Idhayam Murali, the filmmaker disclosed that she was his first choice for an important role in Allu Arjun’s highly anticipated project.
However, due to unavoidable scheduling conflicts, the collaboration could not materialize, leading the makers to cast Femina George instead.
Atlee Wanted Preity Mukhundhan in Raaka
Atlee praised Preity Mukhundhan for her talent and screen presence, saying he was impressed with her performances and believed she would have been a perfect fit for an important character in Raaka.
According to the director, discussions had progressed, but the actress was already committed to filming her upcoming romantic comedy Idhayam Murali. Since both projects required overlapping shooting schedules, she had to decline the offer.
