With cricket fever on the rise and a lot of MS Dhoni fans, it’s crucial to be wary of a scam that’s going around on social media. Scammers are taking advantage of the cricket craze by impersonation MS Dhoni and asking followers for ₹600.
One such instance that has gained attention is of a fraudster posing as MS Dhoni and demanding money. A user on Instagram received a message saying, “Hi, I am MS Dhoni, messaging you from my private account. I am currently in the outskirts of Ranchi and I have forgotten my wallet. Could you please transfer ₹600 via PhonePe so I can return home by bus? I will send the money back once I am home,” as seen in a screenshot that got posted on social media.

The tweet has gained 339.9K views on X after becoming viral. There were many hilarious comments under the post.
One user ironically wrote, “Looks real, where is the QR??”
Many users were laughing about the fact that he wrote “Whistle podu” at the end as if it made it authentic.
One such comment was, “Scammer provided 2 factor authentication. Selfie and then whistle podu.”
“One condition, only if you don’t retire until 2050.. otherwise I trust you,” one fan wrote.
“Scam karne ka tarika thoda casual hai,” someone commented.
“Inko sab jagah free ki ride mil jaegi, agar chahein to.”
