Ranbir Kapoor’s Ramayana has been making headlines for a while even though it hasn’t been officially announced. Director Nitesh Tiwari just started filming the movie in Mumbai, and now pictures of Lara Dutta and Arun Govil from the sets have surfaced online.

Zoom recently received some images from the Ramayana sets, showing Arun Govil and Lara Dutta in their respective roles. In the film, Govil, who is most known for portraying Ram in Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayana, would take on the role of King Dashrath. Lara Dutta, on the other hand, will be recognized as Kaikeyi.

Arun Govil was seen mingling with a few young guys on sets in the images that were leaked. He wore a crown on his head and had a long beard. Lara Dutta was spotted wearing a saree with elaborate gold jewelry as an accessory.

But the photographs that leaked have disappointed and infuriated Ranbir Kapoor’s fans. Some requested everyone to refrain from sharing leaked images or videos, while others advised those responsible to take security measures on sets. “@niteshtiwari22 sir please restrict mobiles on sets! Fans like us are viraling leaked pics of #Ramayana movie. Please take strict action against leaks (sic),” one of the fans wrote.

Information about Ramayana

For those who are unaware, Nitesh Tiwari is directing the Ramayana, in which Ranbir Kapoor will portray Ram. The part of Sita has been assigned to Sai Pallavi. Before Sai, Alia Bhatt, the actress and wife of Ranbir, was being considered for the role of Sita, but she withdrew owing to scheduling conflicts.

While Sunny Deol is supposedly signed for the character of Hanuman, KGF star Yash is also set to play Ravana in the film. According to reports, Bobby Deol and Vijay Sethupathi are also in negotiations to play Kumbhakarna and Vibhashana, respectively.

The makers reportedly intend to air Ramayana on Diwali in 2025. As of right now, though, there has been no official confirmation of this.
