Jai Mata di!! As promised, we’re back with our 9 days of Navratri Series and it is Navratri day 3 on 11 April 2024. Worship Maa Chandraghanta on the Navratri day 3 as the third incarnation of Maa Durga, where Navratri Day 1 is for Maa Shailputri and Navratri Day 2 is for Maa Bharhmacharini.

To help you receive maximum blessings in these pious days of Navratri, here is Navrtari day 3 Puja Vidhi, Mantras and some secret tips, which are the keys to the heart of Maa chandraghanta. Come, let’s start right away:

Chaitra Navratri 2024 is going on from 9 April till 17 April and it is Navrtri day 3 on 11 April 2024. Maa Chandraghanta is Navratri day 3 goddess. There is a half moon ( Chandra) on her forehead which is in the shape of a bell ( ghanta), that’s why she is known as goddess Chandraghanta. 

Maa Chandraghanta wears a red saree, has a bright complexion and carries weapons in her hands to protect her devotees. She rides a lion, and is the apostle of bravery. 

She is worshiped as the 3rd form of Maa Durga. Maa Chandraghanta has ten hands in which she carries weapons to protect her devotees from all forms of fears and hurdles. 

  • Start by offering flowers, fruits, rice and incense to Maa Chandraghanta;
  • Chant the mantra ‘Om Devi Chandrghantaye Namah’ and then, recite the following mantra;
  • After the mantra, read Ch-6 and 7 on Durga Saptashati path and finish the Puja by reciting Aarti.

After completing the Puja of Maa Chandraghanta, sing this Aarti and in the end, finish the Puja by reciting Durga Aarti.

Special Tips 

  • It is really lucky to wear bright red, yellow or golden clothes this day;
  • Offer white lotus, or yellow rose to please Maa Chandraghanta;
  • Bring a small silver bell and add it to your home temple;
  • Offer Panchamrit, sugar, jaggery, honey or Kesar Kheer as Prashad. 
  • Donate white sweets to the needy.
